It is a most versatile word, used in the organization or company. It is used for doing exact work. It is work where result will be possible only with human effort.

The equipment is a necessary tool, clothing or a machine for a particular purpose. Equipment also contains guard that a person uses for one's own safety like gloves, helmet, goggles, etc., that someone needs while traveling or for a particular purpose.
Equipment can also be a tool or a machine which one actually needs while he is climbing. If an old man who is using a wooden stick for walking, so that wooden stick is also known as equipment.
